Stage 2 (Years 3 & 4)

In Stage 2, students will use an increasing range of skills, strategies and knowledge to fluently read, view and comprehend a range of texts on increasingly challenging topics in different media and technologies.

An invite and QR code to join our 2023 Seesaw accounts, where you can stay up to date with some of your daughter’s classwork and experiences, will be sent home next week. We will be regularly posting items throughout the year and this will also be a great place for us to share photos and experiences from excursions and camp as well. 

Please send in a library bag for borrowing on Tuesdays and encourage your daughters to read as much as possible. 

Students will need to wear their PLC Sports uniforms on Mondays and Thursdays this term. 

Homework will be sent home every Tuesday and is due back on the Monday of the following week. This timing allows us to introduce topics and concepts and review the prior week’s work before sending tasks home with students. In addition to this, the students are encouraged to read for 15 minutes every day. Please ensure your daughter records her daily reading in her Student Diary. Diaries will need to be taken to and from school each day to record any special notes or changes to routines and encourage daily reading. 

Things to remember:

• Please bring a green playground hat to school if you haven’t already. This can stay in our tub at school.

• Please bring a water bottle each day, and Crunch & Sip for a snack each morning (fruit and veggie time). Please pack Crunch & Sip in a separate container so that it can easily be brought into the classroom.

• Label everything – even the shoes! Labels mean that lost items can easily make their way back to their owners.

• Please wear your white straw hat and blazer to and from school each day (however, on hot afternoons your daughter will be encouraged to carry her blazer home rather than wearing it).
