Shakespeare Carnival

Term 1

We were astounded by the remarkable displays of talent and enthusiasm showcased at our 2024 Shakespeare Carnival. With over 60 participants gracing the stage of our Astra Arts Centre, we celebrated the timeless works of the Bard with great fervour. Across seven categories (Duologue; Ensemble Scene; MashUp; Physical Theatre; Dance; Music Composition; Smart Phone), we witnessed performances of exceptional quality, making the task of our judges all the more challenging as they deliberated on which act to advance to the Regional Carnival in Term 2. Here's a glimpse into our vibrant program:

PLC Armidale School’s 2024 Shakespeare Carnival winners are.....

Hearken, noble students, lend thine ears!

For in the year of our Lord 2024, at the PLCA Shakespeare Carnival,

Thou hath displayed thy talents grand,

In crafting performances of Shakespearean lore.

Oh, joyous news doth ring in the air,

For 'twas the grandest Carnival yet, I declare!

And I, thy humble steward, am filled with glee,

To witness such unity and creativity.

To all who hath joined in this merry endeavor,

I extend my heartfelt praise, now and forever.

Be proud, dear students, of thy noble art,

For in thy collaboration, thou hath played thy part.

Yet, alas! A solemn truth I must impart,

For only one from each category may depart.

To the Regional Shakespeare Carnival, they shall go,

Representing PLC with flourish and show.

So, without further ado, let me proclaim,

The names of those who hath earned such acclaim:

Thy prowess and talent shine bright and clear.

To thee, chosen few, I raise a cheer,

For thou art bound for greater stages, near.

May fortune smile upon thee in thy quest,

As ambassadors of PLC, thou art truly blessed!
