Shakespeare Carnival 2025
On Thursday, 27 March more than 40 of our most passionate and creative students brought Shakespeare’s world to life in a brilliant display of artistry and performance at our School Shakespeare Carnival. From dramatic duologues to expressive dance pieces and cleverly reimagined Smart Films, the calibre of performance was nothing short of extraordinary.
The Carnival, held in our own school hall, featured entries across six diverse categories: Duologue, Ensemble Scene, Smart Film, Group Devised, Music, and Dance. Each item reflected the dedication, ingenuity and deep understanding of Shakespeare’s timeless stories — all reinterpreted through fresh, contemporary lenses.
Our panel of judges — Mr Matthew Minter our Director of Music, Arlie Bragg our Deputy Head Prefect , India Smith our Creative Arts Prefect and Mrs Wysel our Head of Creative and Performing Arts — had the formidable task of selecting just one item from each category to progress to the next level. With such an impressive standard across the board, this was no easy feat. Every performance demonstrated bold choices, creative collaboration, and strong performance technique.
